Prof. Sompop Bencharit

DDS, MS, PhD

 

Bio:

Dr. Sompop Bencharit is a leading figure in dentistry, serving as Professor, Associate Dean for Innovation, and Chief Innovation Officer at High Point University’s Workman School of Dental Medicine. He previously held prominent roles at MUSC College of Dental Medicine and VCU. He earned his DDS and Diploma in Prosthodontics from Chulalongkorn University and advanced his studies at UNC-Chapel Hill, obtaining a Master’s and PhD in Prosthodontics and Oral Biology. A Diplomate of the American Board of Prosthodontics, he is also a Fellow of the ACP, Pierre Fauchard Academy, and International College of Dentists. Dr. Bencharit received the 2021 ACP Distinguished Researcher award and has published over 90 peer-reviewed articles. He holds editorial roles with the Journal of Prosthodontics, PLoS ONE, and Scientific Reports. Additionally, he is involved with the IADR/AADOCR-Prosthodontic Research Group and serves on research committees for the ACP and American Academy of Osseointegration.

Bio:

Professor Riaz Yar graduated from the University of Liverpool in 1999. After a period in general practice, he established his own dental clinic in 2003 and soon after earned his Membership of the Faculty of Dental Surgery (MFDS) from the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh in 2005. In 2008, he completed an MPhil in Restorative Dentistry, followed by a four-year specialty training in Prosthodontics at the University of Manchester in 2011. Professor Yar also serves as an internal examiner for the Membership of the Joint Dental Faculties of the Royal College of Surgeons of England and for the Overseas Registration Exam and License in Dental Surgery. In addition to his prosthodontic training, he holds a Diploma in Postgraduate Dental Studies (DPDS) from the University of Bristol and a Diploma in Implant Dentistry from the Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh. An active lecturer both nationally and internationally, Professor Yar is a passionate advocate for postgraduate dental education. He founded RED (Restorative Education of the Dental Team) Square and directed an MSc in Restorative Dentistry at the University of Chester for four years. Currently, he leads multiple academic programs, including the Diploma in Advanced Aesthetics (Level 7), the Certificate in Implant Restorations (Level 7) through Elevate Dental, the Certificate in Dental Sleep Medicine (Level 7), and the Certificate in Dental Risk Mitigation (Level 7). Furthering his expertise, Professor Yar completed a Master’s course in Soft Tissue around Implants and Teeth under the guidance of Professor Zucchelli in Bologna. He is a member of the Faculty of Trainers at the Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh, and a Fellow of the College of Dentistry. Additionally, he holds positions as a Visiting Professor in Prosthodontics at the College of Medicine and Dentistry – Birmingham/Ulster University, as well as at Shifa Dental School in Islamabad.

Abstract-

  • Concept of localized or complete build-up of occlusion with direct composite restorations.
  • Planning using (digital) study models, intra-oral and extra-oral pictures, and a (digital) diagnostic wax-up.
  • The techniques for direct composite build-up will be discussed, including freehand modeling, composite build-up using a silicone index, and the injectable flowable technique.
  • Discussion on the durability of such restorations will be covered.
  • Hands-on session: Participants will restore 4 worn posterior teeth with composite to the correct occlusal height, Build up using a transparent silicone key and a conventional composite; and the injectable flowable technique.

Bio:

Marleen Peumans obtained her degree in Dentistry in 1987 at KU Leuven. Thereafter, she followed a 4-year post-graduate program at the Department of Conservative Dentistry. She dedicated herself, particularly to the clinical application of anterior and posterior resin composite restorations, as well as bonded ceramic restorations, fiber-reinforced composite restorations, and bleaching. She took part in numerous clinical studies concerning dental adhesives, posterior composites and ceramic veneers, in- and onlays. In 1997, she obtained the degree of Doctor in Biomedical Sciences. From 2004, she became Professor at KU Leuven. She has several national and international publications on her name concerning clinical performance of adhesive restorations and bleaching. She is a member of the Bio-Emulation Group and the GC Restorative Board.

Bio:

Dr. Marino Sutedjo graduated with a BDS from dental School of Trisakti University (Jakarta-Indonesia) at 2003. In the same year he carried out his Master degree from University of Airlangga (Surabaya-Indonesia) in Conservative dentistry and finished his post graduates at 2007. Currently is a Gold member of Style Italiano Endodontics and the first Asian to join. He is a Key Opinion Leader in Endodontic for Indonesia and Asia. His scientific work includes continuous participations in numerous national and international meetings as a lecturer, moderator and workshop instructor. In 2010 he opened a private dental training facility in Surabaya – Indonesia for the purpose of sharing and training exclusively for endodontics and microscope dentistry. He is also the director of this facility. His publications as a co-author of Textbook Retreatments: Solutions for Periapical Diseases of Endodontic Origin in 2020. And in 2022, he is pointed to be a lecturer in The University of Siena – Italy, to teach Master Advanced of Endodontic Program from 2003 until now. Dr. Marino Sutedjo runs a private practice with his wife in Surabaya Indonesia that concerning in endodontics and orthodontics.
