Sleep Disordered Breathing in Pediatric Patients – The Role of the Oral Health Provider
Course Objectives:
- Inform the attendees about their potential role in screening and referring their pediatric patients at high-risk for Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA)
- Inform the attendees about the potential and limitations of static imaging in assessing potential obstruction craniofacial areas
- Inform the attendees about the potential and limitations of craniofacial orthodontic interventions in interdisciplinary management of pediatric OSA

Prof. Carlos Flores-Mir

Bio:
Prof. Carlos Flores-Mir is a Tenured Professor at the University of Alberta and in Extramural Private Practice as an Associate Orthodontist in Edmonton, Canada.
Prof. Flores-Mir has more than 175 international presentations around the topics of Clinical Orthodontics, Evidence-based Dentistry and Evidence-based Orthodontics. He has 9 book chapters related to Evidence-based Dentistry and 390 peer-reviewed articles and 43 commentaries published
Currently, he is the Director of School of Dentistry Graduate Studies since 2020 and the Orthodontic Program Director since 2010 at the University of Alberta.
