Facing Oral Cancer and Saving Lives!! “Hands-on”
Course objectives:
- Familiarize with the contemporary classification of OSCC and OPMDS.
- Understand how comprehensive demographic, biologic, and clinical data may aid in risk assessment and mitigation of OSCC and OPMDs
- Refine the techniques of examining the oral cavity to identifying potentially concerning features.
- Appreciate the gold standard diagnostic modality for SCC and OPMDs and learn about the other available diagnostic aids.

Dr. Alexander Kerr

Bio:
Dr. Ross Kerr is a Clinical Professor and Director of Oral Medicine in the Department of Oral & Maxillofacial Pathology, Radiology & Medicine at New York University College of Dentistry and a diplomate of the American Board of Oral Medicine. He is a past president of the American Academy of Oral Medicine, a steering committee member of the World Workshop on Oral Medicine, and member of the executive committee of the European Association of Oral Medicine. His research experience includes the evaluation of current and emerging technologies for the detection and diagnosis of oral cancer and oral potentially malignant disorders.
Prof. Giovanni Lodi
PhD
Bio:
Giovanni Lodi qualified in Dentistry at the Università degli Studi di Milano in 1991. In 1998 he obtained his PhD from the University of London, and the same year he started to work for the oral medicine service of the dental clinic of the university hospital of Milano (Italy). In 2002 he joined the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry of the Università degli Studi di Milano. He has published about 200 works in the field of oral medicine, evidence based dentistry and special needs.
Current, he is a full professor with clinical duties of the Università degli Studi di Milano
