Indications & decision for switching to systemic therapy in Oral Medicine (case-based discussion)
This half-day workshop is designed for oral healthcare professionals involved in the management of orofacial lesions/conditions. The workshop aims to enhance participants’ understanding of when and how to transition from topical to systemic therapy in challenging cases. Attendees will be divided into two groups, each guided by an expert facilitator, to engage in round table discussions. Through the analysis of complex clinical cases, previously treated with topical therapy, participants will develop a deeper insight into the decision-making process for systemic therapy initiation. The interactive format encourages collaborative learning and critical thinking, equipping participants with practical skills for their clinical practice.
Course Objectives:
- Identify key clinical indicators & patient factors that necessitate the transition from topical to systemic therapy.
- Make informed & timely decisions regarding the initiation of systemic therapy considering evidencebased guidelines and contemporary research recommendations.
