CBCT in Orthodontics
Treatment planning and follow-up in orthodontics more and more often rely on the use of Cone-Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT). Appropriate knowledge and practical skills are necessary to interpret CBCT scans.
Course Objectives:
- To learn principles of describing location of impacted, retained, supernumerary and additional teeth in CBCT.
- To understand radiological appearance of root resorption in CBCT.
- To understand diagnostic imaging of tooth ankylosis in CBCT.
Course Program:
09.00 – 10.30 | Interpretation of common and less frequent cases encountered in orthodontic practice in CBCT. |
10.30 – 12.30 | Issues such as tooth localisation, root resorption, and ankylosis will be addressed. |

Bio:
Prof. Ingrid Różyło-Kalinowska is specialist in radiology and diagnostic imaging, Head of the Department of Dental and Maxillofacial Radiodiagnostics as well as Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Medical Dentistry of the Medical University of Lublin, Poland and member of the Senate of the University. She is the Past President of the European Academy of DentoMaxilloFacial Radiology, Regional Director of International Association of Dentomaxillofacial in Europe, Board Member and the Chairman of the Section of DentoMaxillofacial Radiology of the Polish Dental Association. She is the Editor-in-Chief of the “Journal of Stomatology”, the official journal of the Polish Dental Association. She is author of scientific papers, conference abstracts, keynote lectures, textbooks in English and Polish, PhD supervisor and reviewer in Poland and abroad.
