Dr. Mauro Fradeani is the Past President of the EAED-European Academy of Esthetic Dentistry (2003/2004) and Past President of AIOP- Academia Italiana di Odontoiatria Protesica (1999/2000), he is Active Member of the AAED, and Life Member of the AAFP. He has been Associate Editor of IJED and member of the Editorial Advisory Board of JERD. Founder and Director of ACE Institute and of Fradeani Education, he is the Author of the book “Esthetic Rehabilitation in Fixed Prosthodontics” Vol 1-“Esthetic Analysis” and Vol 2-“Prosthetic treatment: a systematic approach to esthetic, biologic and functional integration”, published by Quintessence. He runs a private practice limited to prosthetics on natural dentition and on implants in Pesaro, Italy.

Dr. Richard Young

Dr. Richard Young is an Assistant Professor of General Dentistry at Loma Linda University School of Dentistry where he directs as well as lectures in the D2, D3, and D4 aesthetic program. His interest in dental photography and adhesive dentistry spans the last 41 years and he is recognized worldwide for his expertise in both. His innovative and practical methods have inspired countless colleagues to adopt photography into their practices. Dr. Young also lectures on minimally invasive, advanced adhesive dentistry, bringing a 39 year clinical perspective to the subject. Dr. Young maintains a private practice with his wife focusing on esthetic dentistry.

Prof. Konstantinos Michalakis

Dr. Konstantinos Michalakis graduated from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. Soon after he began his 3-year residency in Prosthodontics at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine. He also holds a PhD in Dental Materials from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, an MSc degree in Applied Biomechanics from the Department of Bioengineering of the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow, UK, an MSc in Experimental and Translational Therapeutics from the Department of Oncology of the University of Oxford, Oxford, UK, and a Certificate in Executive Leadership for Healthcare Professionals from the Sloan Program in Health Administration, of Cornell University. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Prosthodontics. In January 2022 he joined Boston University’s Goldman School of Dental Medicine, Boston, MA, USA, as Professor and Chair of the Department of Restorative Sciences and Biomaterials, and Professor at the Center for Multiscale and Translational Mechanobiology. He has lectured extensively at both national and international meetings and he has published numerous articles in high impact peer-reviewed journals, in his areas of expertise. He has co-authored a book on Occlusion and Postural Control, and he has contributed four chapters in Fixed Prosthodontics, Digital Dentistry and Implant books.

Prof. Alvaro Della Bona

As a professional dentist and scientist, I have aggregated worldwide, extensive training and background in both biological sciences and materials science and engineering, with a major in bioceramics. My career in academia and work in the public health system have afforded me the expertise and knowledge base to approach scientific challenges with practical results. The majority of my scientific publications and dental practice relate to dental biomaterials, demonstrating a practical benefit in solving problems for dental patients while advancing dental sciences and technologies. This is a result of my postgraduate and post-doctorate training on dental biomaterials from manufacturing to failure, improving materials’ microstructure and composition, and advancing on fabrication technologies making the best use of biomaterials and dental structures to support oral service. In addition, I have great expertise and experience on additive manufacturing and technology (3D printing), color sciences applied to dentistry, fracture behavior of brittle materials and fractography. As a senior professor and chair of a top Brazilian Postgraduate Program in Dentistry operating in full capacity (30 PhD and 20 Master degree students), I have access to a full-range of research laboratories from medical sciences to materials science and engineering and to dental practice. I have been very active on dental associations worldwide, serving as Treasurer of the International Association for Dental, Oral, and Craniofacial Research (IADR), President of the Brazilian Group of Dental Materials (GBMD); Past-President of the Academy of Dental Materials (ADM). I have also served as member and chair of several Committees in the IADR, including the secretary and treasurer of the Dental Materials Group (DMG). In the academia, I have experienced several positions, Dean of the Dental School, to vice-President for Research and Post-graduate Studies at the University of Passo Fundo, Brazil. Internationally, I was appointed as Adjunct Faculty at the University of Mississippi Medical Center (UMMC), as Adjunct Senior Scientist at the Houston Center for Biomaterials & Biomimetics (HCBB – UTHSCH), and as Honorary Professor at the Faculty of Dentistry, University of Hong Kong.

Prof. Marcelo Calamita

Prof. Marcelo Calamita graduated from the University of Sao Paulo in 1988, where he earned his certificate, MS, and PhD in prosthodontics. He currently serves as a Visiting Professor in the Department of Restorative Dental Sciences at the University of Florida. Marcelo Calamita is the former president of both the Brazilian Society of Esthetic Dentistry and the Brazilian Academy of Esthetic Dentistry. He has lectured both nationally and internationally and has authored numerous scientific publications, including the book "Esthetics in Function". In addition, Marcelo Calamita runs a private practice in Sao Paulo specializing in comprehensive restorative and esthetic dentistry.

Prof. Riaz Yar

Professor Riaz Yar graduated from the University of Liverpool in 1999. After a period in general practice, he established his own dental clinic in 2003 and soon after earned his Membership of the Faculty of Dental Surgery (MFDS) from the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh in 2005. In 2008, he completed an MPhil in Restorative Dentistry, followed by a four-year specialty training in Prosthodontics at the University of Manchester in 2011. Professor Yar also serves as an internal examiner for the Membership of the Joint Dental Faculties of the Royal College of Surgeons of England and for the Overseas Registration Exam and License in Dental Surgery. In addition to his prosthodontic training, he holds a Diploma in Postgraduate Dental Studies (DPDS) from the University of Bristol and a Diploma in Implant Dentistry from the Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh. An active lecturer both nationally and internationally, Professor Yar is a passionate advocate for postgraduate dental education. He founded RED (Restorative Education of the Dental Team) Square and directed an MSc in Restorative Dentistry at the University of Chester for four years. Currently, he leads multiple academic programs, including the Diploma in Advanced Aesthetics (Level 7), the Certificate in Implant Restorations (Level 7) through Elevate Dental, the Certificate in Dental Sleep Medicine (Level 7), and the Certificate in Dental Risk Mitigation (Level 7). Furthering his expertise, Professor Yar completed a Master’s course in Soft Tissue around Implants and Teeth under the guidance of Professor Zucchelli in Bologna. He is a member of the Faculty of Trainers at the Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh, and a Fellow of the College of Dentistry. Additionally, he holds positions as a Visiting Professor in Prosthodontics at the College of Medicine and Dentistry – Birmingham/Ulster University, as well as at Shifa Dental School in Islamabad.

Dr. Johan Figueira

Dr. Johan Figueira graduated from the School of Dentistry at the Central University of Venezuela in 2009. In 2010, he was accepted into the Advanced Esthetic & Restorative Dentistry Program at University of California Los Angeles School of Dentistry (UCLA) where he continued his studies under the leadership of prominent prosthodontist and master ceramist, Dr. Edward McLaren. After graduating, he became an instructor at the UCLA Center for Esthetic Dentistry for 7 years. During this time, he also trained with Dr. Frank Spear, Dr. John Kois, and Dr. Pascal Magne. He currently runs two dental clinics in Mexico focused on comprehensive dentistry cases & one Dental Lab with more than 50 team members. He has published scientific articles on ceramic systems, color, photography, communication with the dental laboratory and digital workflow. He also delivers numerous lectures and hands-on workshops internationally, in around 50 countries.

Dr. Johan Aps

Dr. Aps obtained a DDS (1993), a MSc in Pediatric Dentistry (1997) and a PhD (2002) from Ghent University (Belgium) and a MSc in Dental and Maxillofacial Radiology (2008) from London University (UK). He worked as faculty at the Ghent University (Belgium), University of Washington (Seattle, USA), University of Western Australia (Perth, Australia), Artevelde University of Applied Sciences (Ghent, Belgium) and Vrije Universiteit Brussel (Brussels, Belgium). He is founder-owner of Opinident (Belgium) and is currently Professional Scientific Relations Sr. Manager with Procter&Gamble®. He is author of several scientific manuscripts, chapters in text books and a frequently invited speaker on local anesthesia and radiology. His scientific interests include head and neck anatomy, local anesthesia in dentistry, dental and maxillofacial radiology and radiography.
