E-Poster Only

E-Poster Abstract – Only submitting author will present and get a certificate. Electronic poster or E-Poster is similar to traditional paper poster, but displayed on a large LCD television screen.  This is not a paper / printed poster.  It will be viewed at the E-Poster Stations throughout the Conference.  Each E-Poster must be submitted as a single page PDF document with a size of 1080 by 1536 pixels or 381 by 542 mm in portrait orientation.

Eligibility

  • Author must be an active member by 2020
  • Author must be in the dental field, either a Dental Student, Intern, Graduate Student, General Dentist, Dental Specialists, Dental Hygienist, Dental Assistants, or Dental Laboratory Technicians.
  • Project previously submitted to other Events or Conferences is disqualified.
  • A plagiarized abstract is disqualified
E-Poster Presentation Award

E-Poster Presentation Abstract –Submitted abstracts will be evaluated and the top 15 posters will be announced as the finalists who will be entitled to present during the conference in front of Judges. Three of which will be the winners: 1st Place, 2nd Place and 3rd Place.  The allotted time of presentation will be four minutes for Summary and four minutes for Q&A from the judges.  Only submitting author will present and get a certificate. Non-confirmation of author to present on the specified time will disqualify his/her nomination and will be replaced by the next ranking candidate. Criteria for Judging

  • Innovation and originality of the research idea
  • Significance of the research
  • Suitability of the study design
  • Validation of the data and statistical analysis
  • Clarification of the discussion and the conclusions on the basis of the data
  • Quality of the presentation (presenting in a concise and clear manner)
  • Response to the Judges and the audience (answering questions effectively)
  • Scientific writing and overall impact of the poster (should cover key points of the research and include important data. Illustrations should be graphically clear and understandable)
Young Dentist Research Award (YDRA)

Young Dentist Research Manuscript – A research study completed during undergraduate or internship program of the author. The scientific committee and reviewers will evaluate the full manuscripts and the top 6 manuscripts will be qualified as finalists and will be presented during the conference, 3 of which will be the winners: 1st Place, 2nd Place and 3rd Place.  The allotted time of presentation will be 15 minutes for summary and 10 minutes for Q&A from the judges. Only submitting author will present and get a certificate. Non confirmation of author to present on the specified time will disqualify his/her nomination and will be replaced by the next ranking candidate.
Eligibility

  • Author must be an active member by 2020
  • Author must be currently enrolled in a Dental Internship Program or just recently received an Internship Certificate maximum 18 months prior to the YDRA Submission Deadline.
  • Project previously submitted to other Events or Conferences is disqualified.
  • A plagiarized manuscript is disqualified.

  • Significance of the research.
  • Suitability of the study design
  • Validation of the data and statistical analysis
  • Clarification of the discussion and conclusions on the basis of the data
  • Scientific writing of the manuscript
  • Quality of the presentation
  • Response to the Judges
Graduate Dentist Research Award (GDRA)

Graduate Dentist Research Manuscript – A research project completed during postgraduate program or residency program of the author. Submitted abstracts and manuscripts will be evaluated and the top 6 manuscripts will be the qualified as finalists and will be  presented  during the conference, 3 of which will be the winners: 1st Place,   2nd Place and 3rd Place.  The allotted time of presentation will be 15 minutes for summary and 10 minutes for Q&A from the judges. Only submitting author will present and get a certificate.  Non confirmation of author to present on the specified time will disqualify his/her nomination and will be replaced by the next ranking candidate.

  • Author must be currently enrolled in a Dental Specialty Training Program or just recently received a Postgraduate Certificate maximum 18 months prior to the GDRA submission deadline.
  • Project previously submitted to other events or conferences is disqualified.
  • A plagiarized manuscript is disqualified.

  • Suitability of the study design
  • Validation of the data and statistical analysis
  • Clarification of the discussion and the conclusions on the basis of the data.

Clinical Case Presentation Award

Clinical Case Presentation Abstract – A Clinical Report that describes the author’s methods for meeting a patient treatment challenge.  Submitted abstracts will be evaluated and the top 6 will be the qualified as finalists, and will be presented during the conference, 3 of which will be the winners: 1st Place,   2nd Place and 3rd Place.  The allotted time of presentation will be 15 minutes for Summary and 10 minutes for Q&A from the judges. Only submitting author will present and get a certificate. Non confirmation of author to present on the specified time will void his/her nomination and will be replaced by the next ranking candidate.

Eligibility

  • Author must be an active member by 2020
  • Author may be a Dental student, Intern, Graduate student, General Dentist or Dental Specialist
  • Project previously submitted to other events or conference is disqualified.

Ethical Guidelines

  • Authorship – Submitted cases should be of the clinician’s original work, and properly documented.  Student or Resident Authors should have submitted cases approved by the Training Center Director and Case Supervisor/s.
  • Ethical Approvals – Case Reports should be conducted in full accordance with ethical principles, evidence based guidelines, dental health code and abide with local laws and regulations

Guidelines

  • Title – should be laid out clearly, briefly and entirely descriptive of the case
  • Introduction – should summarize relevant problems encountered, standard treatments and protocols.
  • Clinical Report – should describe the patient, the problem presented and any medical or dental background. It should describe the various treatment options and describe which treatment rendered and the reasons for choosing it.
  • Treatment Objectives – should comment on the advantages and disadvantages of the chosen treatment, and describe any pertinent contraindication.
  • Treatment Outcome – should briefly describe the length of the follow-up period, prognosis and any improvements noted on the treatment result.
  • Conclusion – should indicate clinical implications or recommendations in accordance to findings.
  • Critical Informative data to be integrated: patient gender, age, sex, medical/dental background, chief complaint, diagnostic tests required, medications prescribed, procedures and any appliance constructed

Criteria for Judging

  • Purpose/goals are clearly defined
  • Statement of the problem ad case \management significance are explained
  • Significance of the procedure is clearly stated
  • Technique approach/key features are clearly described
  • Assessment plan is well developed or the results demonstrate effectiveness
  • New research
  • Conclusions or preliminary findings are supported by the results and stated clearly.
  • Novel procedures should provide the scientific basis for clinical treatment
  • Quality of the presentation (Presenter presents in a concise and clear manner)
  • Response to the judges and audience (Presenter answers questions effectively)

General Guideline Rules:

  1. Abstract must be submitted in English with a clear Title
  2. Attached abstract must be submitted without the name of authors.
  3. Abstract should not exceed 300 words and should be presented under the following subheadings: Objectives, Methods; Results; Conclusions
  4. If tables are needed, please submit them as editable text and not as images. Tables should be on separate page(s) at the end.
  5. Abstracts must be submitted through the abstract portal only.  No submission by E-mail is allowed.
  6. Author Submitter must use his/her e-mail account only.
  7. Only Submitting author has the benefits of an abstract presenter
  8. Research projects involving humans or animals submitted to any category, ethical approval from an official IRB must be submitted. If the research was conducted in Saudi Arabia, the research ethical committee giving the ethical approval must be recognized and actively registered with the National Committee of Bioethics – King Abdulaziz City of Science and Technology. If the research was conducted outside Saudi Arabia, the research ethics committee giving the ethical approval must have the legal capacity and power to give such approval within the country in which the research was conducted.
