Prof. Uribe's research interests include diagnostic imaging, cariology, artificial intelligence, meta-research, and dental education. He is the Principal Investigator of the Global Initiative on AI for Health (GI-AI4H), a collaborative effort by WHO\/ITU\/WIPO to advance the application of artificial intelligence in dentistry. Prof. Uribe serves on the editorial boards of the Journal of Dental Research and the Dental Traumatology Journal. He is the professor of oral & maxillofacial Surgery, the University of Glasgow, UK since 2003, the director of the postgraduate programme \u201cMaster in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery\u201d, and the vice dean of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow, UK. Professor Ayoub played a pivotal role in establishing the African Association of Oral & Maxillofacial surgery and organised the first meeting that was heled in Nairobi. \n\nProfessor Ashraf Ayoub is leading a research group to study facial deformities using the recent advances in 3D\/4D imaging. He is the lead surgeon of a team which includes orthodontics, technologists, psychologist and computer scientists to investigate facial malformations. \n\nHe has received several awards & honours, published more than 200 articles focused of the surgical correction of dentofacial deformities and tissue bioengineering. \n\nRecently, professor Ayoub in collaboration with colleagues in UK & India, completed and innovative clinical application of Dynamic Navigation and the preclinical use of a robotic arm for the placement of dental implants.
