Prof. Ashraf Ayoub

Ashraf Ayoub is Master of Dental Sciences, Doctor of Philosophy, fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and The Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow. He is the professor of oral & maxillofacial Surgery, the University of Glasgow, UK since 2003, the director of the postgraduate programme “Master in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery”, and the vice dean of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow, UK. Professor Ayoub played a pivotal role in establishing the African Association of Oral & Maxillofacial surgery and organised the first meeting that was heled in Nairobi. Professor Ashraf Ayoub is leading a research group to study facial deformities using the recent advances in 3D/4D imaging. He is the lead surgeon of a team which includes orthodontics, technologists, psychologist and computer scientists to investigate facial malformations. He has received several awards & honours, published more than 200 articles focused of the surgical correction of dentofacial deformities and tissue bioengineering. Recently, professor Ayoub in collaboration with colleagues in UK & India, completed and innovative clinical application of Dynamic Navigation and the preclinical use of a robotic arm for the placement of dental implants. The results have been published in peer reviewed scientific journal and presented at several international meetings.

In January 2021 he was invited to become the Inaugural Dean of the first College of Dental Medicine in Qatar, Qatar University. He has served in several senior leadership positions, and was President of the European Academy of Paediatric Dentistry from 2014-2016 and has served on the board of EAPD for last 10 years. Professor Duggal has published over 200 research papers in international journals and is author of “Restorative Techniques in Paediatric Dentistry, which has been published in 7 languages and has sold over 16,000 copies worldwide. He has Co-Edited “Paediatric Dentistry” by Oxford, now in its 5th edition and is the most widely followed textbook in Paediatric dentistry in the world. Dr. Sarah Botros holds the position of Assistant Professor at the department of Restorative Dentistry, Faculty of Dentistry, The British University in Egypt. She got her Master’s degree in Operative Dentistry in 2016, and she also earned her PhD degree in Restorative Dentistry in 2019 at the Faculty of Dentistry, Ain Shams University. She is a Key Opinion Leader for Kulzer Middle East. She is a member of IADR, FDI and Saudi Dental Society. She also owns her private practice in New Cairo and has an extensive clinical experience in the scope of adhesive and restorative dentistry, dental occlusion and full-mouth rehabilitation. She has been a participant in many national and international conferences and workshops. Dr. Sarah is researcher and peer-reviewer at several national and international journals in the field of adhesive dentistry, dental biomaterials, public health and nanotechology.

Dr. Tariq Akkam

Dr. Tariq Akkam is a board-certified prosthodontist. He completed his residency at Dr. Sulaiman Al Habib Hospital in Riyadh, where he served as Chief Resident and was recognized with the Best Resident Award for his clinical excellence and leadership. Dr. Akkam is currently based at the Jazan Specialized Dental Center, where he practices full-time prosthodontics. He also holds key leadership roles as the Head of the Prosthodontics Department and Deputy Director of the Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) Program.
