Prof. Sanz is a Full-time Professor of Periodontics at the Faculty of Odontology, University Complutense of Madrid (Spain).
He is Invited Professor at the EFP Graduate Program in Periodontology in Madrid Degree in Dentistry, University Complutense of Madrid, Postgraduated in Periodontology, University Complutense of Madrid as well as European Doctor (Ph.D) in Dentistry, University Complutense of Madrid.

Amongst his many awards, Mariono Sanz is also President, of the Osteology foundation. The foundation congratulated Prof. Sanz on a honorary doctorate from the University of Gothenburg, which he received for his longstanding collaboration with researchers at Sahlgrenska Academy.
In May 2015 the Sahlgrenska Academy at the University of Gothenburg announced that they awarded a honorary doctorate to Mariano Sanz, Professor of Periodontology and Dean of the Faculty of Odontology at University Complutense of Madrid, Spain, and president of the Osteology Foundation.
The honorary doctorate was now conferred in a ceremony on 16 October 2015. He has published more than 200scientific articles and book chapters and is one of the most popular international lecturers on odontology, Sahlgrenska Academy said in their official announcement.
His longstanding collaboration with researchers at Sahlgrenska Academy had a major impact on advances in knowledge about healing processes after tooth extraction. Honorary doctorates from Sahlgrenska Academy are awarded to those who have played a key role in research or education at the academy or who have otherwise promoted progress in the fields that it addresses.
Michelle M. Krupp, EdD, is interim Associate Dean for Education and Assistant Dean for Education & Faculty Initiatives at The University of Iowa College of Dentistry & Dental Clinics. In these roles, she provides programmatic expertise and evaluation of the curriculum to ensure student success. Her professional work has centered on improving curriculum and assessment; developing, refining and increasing educational outcomes, and aligning curriculum with accreditation standards and competencies. Her extensive experience in medical and dental education expands through Radiation Oncology, Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, and Dental Administration. Dr. Krupp has developed curriculum and evaluation schemas for new start-up programs, such as a Sports Medicine fellowship, Emergency Medicine Physician Assistant Residency, and Performance-Based Assessment Center. Dr. Krupp earned a master’s degree in organizational communication with an emphasis in instructional design from Illinois State University and a doctorate in Education and Leadership in Healthcare from Nebraska Methodist College. Her doctoral research involved developing a self-assessment tool framed in competencies for academic dentists to substantiate faculty development efforts. Dr. Krupp was recently selected and recognized as the Ambassador for the College of Dentistry and was nominated and selected to participate in The University of Iowa leadership program (UI LEAD) in 2016. Association memberships include American Dental Education Association, American Evaluation Association, and the Association of American Medical Colleges – Central Group on Educational Affairs.
Dr. Edgard El Chaar is currently a Clinical Associate Professor at the Department of Periodontics and Implant Dentistry and the Director of Advanced Education Program in Periodontics at New York University College of Dentistry. Former Director and Founder of Advanced Education Program in Periodontics at Lutheran Medical Center. He has a thriving private practice in New York City that specializes in dental implants and Periodontal disease. He is the founder of EEC Institute, a continuing education and research institution focused on the advancement of clinical periodontics and implant dentistry. He travels several times a year to lecture internationally and domestically and has published several articles in peer-reviewed journals and authored several chapters in published books.
Dr. El Chaar completed his Doctorate of Dental Surgery, his post-graduate education in Advanced Periodontics and Dental Implants, and received a Master in Oral Biology all from New York University. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology and Implant Dentistry. Member and Fellow of Implant Team of Implantology (ITI) and serves on the education committee, and Member of American academy of Periodontology and Academy of Osseointegration.
Avijit is Professor of Cariology & Operative Dentistry / Hon. Consultant and Clinical Lead, Restorative Dentistry at the Faculty of Dentistry, Oral & Craniofacial Sciences, King’s College London / Guy’s & St. Thomas’ Hospitals Foundation Trust, London, UK. He holds the positions of Head of Conservative & MI Dentistry, Director of Education (UG) and Programme Director of the innovative KCL distance-learning Masters in Advanced Minimum Intervention Dentistry (open to dentists and therapists: google “KCL AMID” for more info). He also leads the Cariology & Operative Dentistry research programme at the world-leading Faculty (as part of the Centre of Oral & Clinical Translational Science), researching, publishing and lecturing internationally about MI operative caries management and adhesive dental biomaterials (>120 publications, >£2.5 million research income, supervision of 5 post-doctorate, 16 doctorate and 24 masters students to date). He acts as an international R&D KOL for many international Industry partners, including 3M Oral Healthcare, GCE / UK, Septodont, Dentsply Sirona and P&G Oral B. Avijit is primary author of Pickard’s Guide to Minimally Invasive Operative Dentistry (9th & 10th editions; OUP, 2015), a definitive and globally respected text in its field, amongst other book editorships (Minimally Invasive Esthetics, Elsevier (2015)) and chapter contributions (including, amongst others, a caries management chapter in The Principles of Endodontics 2nd ed, OUP, 2013; 3rd ed, 2019). He is editor-in-chief of Oral Health & Preventive Dentistry (Quintessence Ltd) and an editorial board member of Journal of Dental Research, Dental Update, British Dental Journal, International Journal of Adhesion & Adhesives, and the Primary Dental Journal. He is a member of the British Dental Association Health & Science Committee also, all whilst maintaining wet-fingered specialist clinical practice in Restorative Dentistry, Prosthodontics & Periodontics. He is the President of the BDA Metropolitan Branch Section 2019-20 as has consistently been voted by his peers as one of the top ten most influential individuals in the UK dental profession over the past 5 years (FMC Publications).
Dr. Fernandes is a Board Certified Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon with Certificate of Added Qualification in Head and Neck Oncology and Microvascular Surgery by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He is a Professor of Surgery at the University of Florida and holds appointments in the Departments of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Neurosurgery, Orthopedic Surgery and the Division of Surgical Oncology at the University of Florida College of Medicine – Jacksonville. Currently. He serves as the Chief of Head and Neck Surgery, Director of the Head and Neck/Microvascular Reconstructive Surgery fellowship, Director of the Center for Reconstructive Surgery, Co-Director of the Skull Base Surgery Program and Associate Chairman of the Department of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery.
Dr. Fernandes is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (ad. Hominem), as well as many other surgical and medical associations in the USA. He is an honorary fellow of the Spanish Society of OMS, the Mexican Association of OMS, Pakistan Association of OMS, and the Costa Rican Society of OMS.
He has lectured extensively nationally and internationally and has authored numerous manuscripts in the areas of head and neck oncology and reconstructive surgery as well a single author textbook Atlas of Local & Regional Flaps in Head and Neck Surgery and is co-editor of the recently published textbook Oral, Head Neck Oncology and Reconstructive Surgery.
Professor Marie Therese Hosey is Head of Paediatric Dentistry at the Faculty of Dentistry, Oral & Craniofacial Sciences, King’s College London and a paediatric dental consultant at King’s College and Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospitals. orcid.org/0000-0003-1178-4106 She is one of the few UK dentists to have trained in general anaesthesia. Her research interests include the pharmacological and behavioural management of anxious children especially those with Early Childhood Caries, to improve their safety and comfort and to reduce post-operative psychological and physical morbidity. She has developed family-friendly computer games to prepare children psychologically for treatment and to deliver preventive advice within non-clinical settings. She also collaborates with craniofacial scientists to discover new genes in children with clefts.
Her research funding has been mainly for Phase III randomised controlled clinical trials from NIHR and the Scottish Chief Scientist office. She and is co-director of CEDACORE (Children Experiencing Dental Anxiety Collaboration on Research and Education), an international collaboration spanning Brazil and the Middle East. She authored the UK and European national guidelines on paediatric dental sedation. She has contributed to six dental and medical textbooks and is editor of four. She has examined at all levels both at home and abroad.
Carlos Mendieta is a Professor of Periodontology and Chair of the Periodontics Department at the University of Barcelona. He is the founder and Director of the Postgraduate Programs “Master in Periodontology and Oral Implantology” (launched in 1991) and “Master Clinical Oral Implantology and Oral Prosthodontics” (launched in 2001) at the University of Barcelona.
Dr. Mendieta is a Director of the Periodontics Service at the Hospital Odontologic of the University of Barcelona. His former appointments include Research Associate in Periodontics at the Mayo Clinic, Rochester, MN (1980-83), and consecutive appointments at Columbia University, New York, as Research Associate (1983-86), Assistant Professor (1986-90) and Adjunct Professor of Periodontics (1990-95).
He held an appointment as Visiting Professor of Periodontology (1992-94) at Harvard School of Dental Medicine, Boston, Massachusetts. He received his Medical Degree from the Autonomous University of Barcelona, and a Specialization in Stomatology and a PhD “cum laude” from the University of
Barcelona. He also holds a Certificate in Periodontology and a DDS Degree from Columbia University.
Dr. Mendieta’s research interest includes the prevention, pathophysiology and treatment of periodontal diseases, and has authored articles in the top ranked dental and cardiovascular journals. He was honored with a “Distinguished Alumnus Award”, from the Division of Periodontics of Columbia University, for outstanding contributions and achievements. He has received the Fonseca Prize from the Spanish Society of Periodontology and the Sim i Virgili Prize from the Academy of Medical Sciences of Catalonia.
Dr. Carlo Ercoli graduated from the “Enrico Berlinguer” Dental Technology Institute in Rome in 1987 and obtained his dental degree from the University of Siena, Italy in 1993. He specialized in Prosthodontics in 1996 at the Eastman Dental Center in Rochester, New York, where he also completed a one-year training in Orofacial Pain and Temporomandibular Joint Disorders in 1997. In 2012, he achieved specialty certification in Periodontology at the University of Rochester Eastman Institute for Oral Health. In 2019, he obtained his MBA from the Simon Business School of the University of Rochester. He is currently Professor and Chairman of the Prosthodontic Specialty Training Program at the University of Rochester, Eastman Institute for Oral Health and a faculty member of the Periodontology Program.
Dr. Ercoli is a diplomate of the American Boards of Prosthodontics and Periodontology, an ITI Fellow and holds memberships in several dental organizations including the American Academy of Periodontology, the American College of Prosthodontists, Academy of Osseointegration, American Academy of Fixed Prosthodontics, Greater New York Academy of Prosthodontics and American Prosthodontic Society. He is a Past President of the American Prosthodontic Society, Executive Council Member of the Academy of Prosthodontics, American Academy of Fixed Prosthodontics and a Honorary Member of the Italian Academy of Prosthodontics.
He maintains a faculty practice limited to Prosthodontics and Periodontics. He has lectured nationally and internationally on several topics related to clinical prosthodontics and implant dentistry.
Dr Fok obtained his BEng and PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Manchester, UK. He also holds a BA in Mathematics from the UK Open University and an MSc in Mathematical Modeling and Numerical Analysis from the University of Oxford.
Dr Fok has expertise in stress and structural analysis. His research activities cover a range of topics in the biomechanics of dental restorations. These include probabilistic failure analysis, micro-structural modeling of composite materials, shrinkage stress and strain, design of mechanical tests, nondestructive examination and shape optimization of dental restorations. A principal aim of his research is to instill more rigorous engineering principles into the design and assessment of dental restorations and treatments so as to improve their reliability.
Dr Fok has been the Director of the Minnesota Dental Research Center for Biomaterials and Biomechanics (MDRCBB) since 2007. Established as an industrial-academic collaboration, with the 3M Foundation and 3M Dental Products Division providing the founding funds, the MDRCBB works with industry on the development of new dental biomaterials and technologies. New materials are evaluated using the many techniques unique to the MDRCBB to determine their applicability and chances for clinical success in the oral cavity. The MDRCBB has been continuously funded since 1991.
Dr. Alsaeed is a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of British Columbia, Vancouver, Canada, on a scholarship from King Saud Bin Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Dental Sleep Medicine, American Board of Craniofacial Dental Sleep Medicine, American Board of Orthodontics and a Fellow of the Royal College of Dentists, Canada (FRCD (C)). He published in high impact journals such as American Journal of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopaedics and Journal of Prosthodontics. His main research interest is in Sleep Medicine and Craniofacial Imaging.

Dr. Jeff Ward obtained his BDS with Distinction from The University of Otago in New Zealand in 1996. Jeff spent three years as a Dental Officer in The New Zealand Army before commencing his specialist Endodontic training at the University of Melbourne, obtaining his GradDipClinDent and MDSc from The University of Melbourne in 2002, followed by his MRCDS (Endo) in 2008 and his FPFA in 2018. Jeff has worked in full-time specialist Endodontic practice in Melbourne since 2002. He also has teaching engagements at The Melbourne Dental School, lecturing and demonstrating in the clinic to dental and endodontic students. Jeff teaches continuing education courses at the University of Melbourne and lectures on various endodontic topics for Universities and the Dental Industry throughout Australia, Asia and New Zealand. Jeff has published several articles in endodontic journals with particular reference to the management of fractured endodontic instruments and vital pulp therapy.
Jeff has a special interest in rotary NiTi instruments and the use of operative microscopes in endodontics, which he has used since 2000. Jeff is also actively involved in several dental and endodontic groups and he has served on the Australian Dental Association (Vic Branch) Oral Health Education Committee and the Australian Society of Endodontology (Vic Branch) committee. Jeff has also recently served as the Secretary/Treasurer and also the President of the Australian Society of Endodontology (Vic Branch).
Born in 1962 in the Netherlands. Graduated in dentistry in 1987 at the University of Utrecht, NL and emigrated to Italy in the same year. Operating in a private dental office at Calusco d’Adda(BG, Italy) since 1990 as a general practitioner. A first approach to periodontal and implant surgery and implant supported prosthodontics in 1993, continuously updating professional knowledge and skills following lectures and attending courses.
Lectures and gives hands-on courses on implant related as well as periodontal plastic surgery subjects since 2007. A strong focus on digital treatment planning aided by all means of digital support systems as intra-oral scanning, cbct-scanning, and implant planning software. Recently integrated into the clinical protocol calibrated smile design procedures for planning and patient communication. Prosthodontic finalizing of (implant) treatment is ever more shifting to CAD-CAM procedures that perfectly combine with and follow up into digital planning.

Dr. Anton Lebedenko graduated from the Moscow state university for medicine and dentistry. For subsequent 7 years, he was employed as a researcher at the dental materials department of the same university. In 2003, he published his thesis and got his doctorate degree. Until 2011 in addition to University activities he worked for representative office of Ivoclar Vivadent in Russia as a clinical demonstrator first and then as manager professional services. Then he has moved to Switzerland and continued his job as manager professional services at Ivoclar Vivadent Headquarter. Since 2018, he is working as Manager Global Education clinical at the ICDE (International Center for Dental Education) of Ivoclar Vivadent in Schaan, Liechtenstein.
Dr Angela Rovera earned a bachelor’s degree in dental surgery and a Master degree in Implant Prosthodontic from University of Turin, Italy. She was awarded a research fellowship to study the peri-implant tissues at the Periodontology Department of University of Verona, Italy. Currently, she is a PhD and Fellow of the Higher Education Academy candidate at the Institute of Dentistry, Queen Mary University of London. She is author of several scientific publications within the field of dental implants and periodontology.
She is member of the Foreign Office of the Italian Dental Association (ANDI) and member of the European Regional Organisation of the International Dental Federation (FDI) working to encourage cooperation amongst the national dental associations and national committees in the fields of research, education, practice, and public health to improve national policies relating to health issues. She is a dental practice head committed to ethical and quality care.

Dr. Azim is the Division Head & Director of the Endodontic Post-Graduate Program at the University at Buffalo (UB) in New York and he maintains a private practice limited to Endodontics. He is also the Founder and Chief Editor of Endolit.
Dr. Azim earned his BDS from Cairo University, where he also did his endodontic training. He practiced as an Endodontist in Cairo for a few years in several private practices and his own clinic. He then joined the Endodontic Post-Doctoral program at Columbia University, where he was first a resident and then a part-time faculty. Dr. Azim later joined the Endodontic Department at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center where he worked as an Assistant Professor.
Dr. Azim is a Diplomate of the American Board of Endodontics. He has lectured all over the world and has been awarded several times for his research work including the 1st prize in the American Association of Endodontics research Award Competition (Boston 2012) and 1st prize in the Pan Arab Endodontic Conference (Dubai 2012). He has numerous publications in peer-reviewed journals. He is a member of the Scientific Advisory Board of the Journal of Endodontics. He is also a reviewer for multiple other Endodontic journals such as International Endodontic Journal and Journal of Dental Traumatology.
Dr. Karabucak is Associate Professor of Endodontics – Clinician Educator, Director of the Postdoctoral Endodontics Program and Chair of Department of Endodontics.
After earning his dental degree from Istanbul University School of Dental Medicine in 1993, Dr. Karabucak completed his endodontic postgraduate training at the Department of Endodontics at Penn, where he also received his Masters in Oral Biology in 1988. He later earned his DMD degree from Penn Dental Medicine in 2002. His research interests include the cellular mechanisms of vasodilation and the inflammatory mediators in the dental pulp, outcome assessment of endodontic treatments and the effects of dental materials on endodontic success.
Dr. Karabucak lectures at national international conferences and has published in peer-reviewed journals. He serves on the editorial advisory board of several international peer-reviewed dental journals. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Endodontics. Dr. Karabucak has been the attending Endodontist at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia since 2005.
Chaniotis Antonis graduated from the University of Athens Dental School, Greece (1998). In 2003 he completed the three-year postgraduate program in Endodontics at the University of Athens Dental School. Since 2003, he owns a limited to microscopic Endodontics private practice in Athens, Greece.
For the last ten years, he served as a clinical instructor affiliated with the undergraduate and postgraduate programs at the University of Athens, Athens Dental School, Endodontic department, Greece.
In 2012 he was awarded the title of Clinical fellow teacher at the University of Warwick, Warwick dentistry UK.
He lectures extensively nationally and internationally and he has published articles in local and international Journals.

Dr. Al Salami is currently a Lecturer and Specialist in Pediatric Dentistry at Hamdan Bin Mohammed College of Dental Medicine, MBRU. He is also a member of The Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, UK. He is in the academia since he obtained his D.D.S. degree and has published 7 articles in scientific journals of international repute. He published his first book of “Oral Health of Children of Incarcerated Mothers at UAE Jail Nurseries” in 2017. Dr. Al Salami worked as a clinical tutor and researcher at Faculty of Dentistry at Ajman University between 2012 and 2014. He is also involved as a volunteer dentist in the UAE Red Crescent Clinics in the UAE since 2015.
