When beginning my career as a dental nurse I worked in private and NHS practices before completing my Certificate in Dental Nursing.
In 2008, I joined UCL Eastman Dental Institute, which provided me with the opportunity to observe specialist teaching in Implantology, Restorative Dentistry, and Endodontics. Working within a postgraduate training institute inspired me to pursue a Certificate in Oral Health Education qualification and I began teaching community-based oral health care at UCL Eastman Dental Institute.
In 2014, I assumed teaching responsibility for the dental nurse aspects of the Restorative Dental Practice MSc and the Postgraduate Implant Dentistry Diploma. After the success of these days, I was asked to prepare and run one-day Dental Implant Nursing courses for the Eastman. These courses are in high-demand from dental nurses around the country and received excellent feedback from delegates.
In the future, I will be preparing teaching material for some more topics for dental nurses to continue their professional development.
